My dear friends, colleagues, clients and students:

It is our privilege to recap some of CareerQuest's attempts and achievements during 2009 in the last issue of this year. Overall, 2009 was a difficult year for our clients and us, due to economic conditions. However, we look forward optimistically to 2010.

We sincerely appreciate your interacting with us and sending in your feedback and we respond to it in every case.

We thank our wonderful clients who trusted us for directing their careers and provided several referrals.

We thank Richard Nelson Bolles for having the confidence to mention us in What Color Is Your Parachute? for eight years in a row!

   Career Stimulus Package
In our desire to help as many people as we can, we launched a new innovative program called Career Stimulus Package, during the first half of 2009. In essence, we cut our fees for all our services by 50%.

   Institute of Industrial Engineers Seminar
CareerQuest was invited to present an evening seminar at the Institute of Industrial Engineers - Raritan Valley (Central NJ) Chapter, on April 15, 2009. The topic was Making Yourself Marketable in a Down Economy (How to Make Your Job Recession-Resistant). We enjoyed the spirited discussions during the question-and-answer period of the presentation.

   Book Endorsement
Our book, Career and Life Counseling From the Heart (Your Career is a Pathway to Your Soul!), has received many excellent reviews. Richard Nelson Bolles, author of What Color Is Your Parachute? says: "Don Sutaria is one of the career counselors I most admire in the U.S. He talks about things other career counselors don't, like "your soul." Now he has written a book I like a lot, with brilliant short chapters you can digest day by day. I recommend it unreservedly to everyone." We are deeply grateful for his endorsement.

This book has been nicknamed as Chicken Soup for Your Career! Take a peek inside this book at Amazon.com before you decide to buy it. It is also available as an e-book from iUniverse.

   Professional Consultation
It is a real pleasure to thank our colleagues at Association of Career Professionals International, Career Counselors Consortium, Society for Human Resource Management, International Coach Federation, American Society for Training and Development, and Career Management Alliance, for mentoring us and providing critical and unselfish guidance on various contemporary issues.

   Special Thanks to Journalists
We thank the journalists at The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Star-Ledger, The Salt Lake Tribune, The Union Leader, The New York Post, Fortune, Money, WorkingSmart and other publications for featuring us prominently in several of their articles and studies on career issues throughout the years.

    Boost Your Career Day
The sixth annual "Boost Your Career" Day, Five-Hour Marathon-Telethon, offered by CareerQuest as a public service on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, was a great success. "Career Doctor Don" provided free career advice on the telephone, limited to five minutes per caller, because of the heavy call volume. Surprisingly enough we had callers not just from the United States but also from Canada and Western Europe. We plan to repeat this Marathon-Telethon, an annual feature at CareerQuest, on Tuesday, December 15, 2009.

    Career Doctor Don's Column
Career Doctor Don Answers Your Questions appears as a regular feature in the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) - New Jersey Chapter newsletters. Visit www.ispe.org to read more.

    Articles on www.Biz4NJ.com
Several of our articles will continue to appear on the website www.Biz4NJ.com. The mission of this website is to "Help Garden State Business Grow."

   Keeping in Touch with Students
Greetings, my former students - undergraduate and graduate - (from Alliance Graduate School of Counseling, Nyack College, New York University, Rutgers University, Stevens Institute of Technology, and Columbia University). Please keep me informed of your whereabouts and your career progress.

   Change in Virtual Assistants
CareerQuest is very grateful to Leslee A. Beldotti of VA-Lab Designs, our Webmaster for the past four years, without whose timely and high-quality work we could not have published our attractive monthly newsletters and special reports. Leslee also did a fantastic job of copy editing and developmental editing of Career And Life Counseling From The Heart (Your Career Is A Pathway To Your Soul!). Thank you so much, Leslee, for your superb contributions, and we wish you great success in all your future endeavors.

And we want to welcome Kim Casault of Cruxwire Web, who has inherited Leslee Beldotti's clients. Kim has provided me with excellent services since September 1, 2009.

   Vacation Period
CareerQuest will on vacation from Monday, 12/21/09, to Friday, 1/1/10, both days inclusive. We shall return rejuvenated on Monday, 1/4/10.

Greetings
All of us at CareerQuest would like to wish you a Happy Hanukkah, a Merry Christmas, a Proud Kwanzaa, and a very Happy New Year.

Epilogue
Until we meet again through the magic of email, keep your feedback coming.

Peace! Love! Shalom!
